Aug 12,

On Jack’s Heavenly Birthday this year, we joined Councillor La Keisha Jackson and Pathway Resource Center at their Annual Far East Side Community Peace Walk. We were united in our shared mission of opposing gun violence and promoting peace in Indianapolis. We walked for peace and the healing of our wounded city. It was a privilege to be among civil, faith, and community leaders who advocate for a safer city free of gun violence. We look forward to building partnerships with these leaders so that together we can create peaceful change in our city, one life at a time.

1st Annual Jack Shockley Warriors for Peace Tennis Tournament at Broad Ripple Park

July 10, 2021

On Saturday, July 10th, we held the first Warriors for Peace Tennis Tournament. In the initial year, it was organized to be a fun with a little league atmosphere. We see it as an event that can grow and engage families in our mission.

The first year was great success with 16 entrants. Congratulations to the champion Danny Pruitt (defeating Susie Winternheimer in the championship match), who played great tennis all day. A special thanks to everyone who helped in organizing the event and the participants!

We are excited to continue to expand the event in the future! ️

Broad Ripple Park Cleanup & Jack's 25th Birthday Party at Blind Owl Brewery

April 25, 2021

On Sunday, April 25, 2021, the Warriors for Peace celebrated Jack Shockley’s 25th birthday. The day began at 8:00 at Christ the King Catholic Church, where Father Todd said the Mass, which was offered in Jack’s memory. After Mass, the Warriors served the community by cleaning up a stretch of roadside at Broad Ripple Park, near the tennis courts where Jack played so often. That afternoon, we celebrated Jack’s birthday with food and drink and friendship at the Blind Owl Brewery. It was an almost perfect day. Though we missed Jack’s physical presence and good humor, we felt his spirit with us the entire day. Happy 25th Birthday, Jack!
