Jack Shockley Warriors for Peace seek to honor the life and memory of a peacemaker—our son, brother, and friend, Jack Shockley, who in August 2020, at the age of 24, was murdered by handgun. He was the 117th of 215 murder victims in Indianapolis that year.
First, we will support scholarships with one-on-one mentoring to enable grade-school graduates from our center-city parishes to complete their Catholic education through high school.
Second, with time, talent, and treasure, we will promote peace and oppose gun violence by partnering with local gun violence prevention organizations to support peace-promoting efforts in the community.
In these ways, we will seek to honor Jack by bringing peaceful change to our world, one life at a time.
